6 Month Dr. Appt.

Today we took Jessica to her 6 month Dr. Apt. Mark and I really enjoy these routine checkups because we are able to get accurate information on her height and weight and also see where she is compared to other children her age in those areas. So as of today (March 27, 2009 - about 6.5 Months old), Jessica weighed 15 lbs 12.9 oz was 26.25 inches long and had a head circumference of 16.5 inches. That puts her at the 36% for weight, 55% for height, and 28% for head circumference. All in all, she is small! The good thing is that she isn't "too" small.

She also received her next round of immunizations (HepB, DTaP, PCV, Hib, Polio, and Rota). Don't ask me what any of those are cause I couldn't tell you. We have been very lucky with the immunizations because she has not reacted to them much other than just being tired.

As we expected her doctor said that she is very advanced when it comes to sitting, standing, and crawling. Because of this, she may be ready (wanting) to feed herself sooner. Once she starts to grab at food and put it in her mouth, we can start giving her finger foods (soft fruits and veggies). This actually surprised me because I feel like we just started giving her the mushy stuff. Well it just goes to say people are right when they say they grow up soooo fast.
As you can see in the picture, Jessica does not mind going to the doctor especially because she can tear apart the paper they lay on the table and stuff it into our mouth. By the time we left, there were only shreds of paper scattered around the room.
All in all it was a pretty good visit. Next visit will be at 9 months. It is crazy to think what she will be doing by then and how fast that time will fly by.
